I was looking up something else in Webster's when my eye fell on
indagate:Etymology: Latin indagatus, past participle of indagare, from
indago ring of hunters encircling game, act of searching, from Old Latin
indu in + Latin agere to drive ? more at end-, agent

: to search into : investigateAn intriguing word, but it bothered me
that I'd never run into it. So I checked the OED, and the first thing I
noticed was the second line of the entry: "? Obs." If the OED was
suggesting it was obsolete in 1900, why on earth is it not marked as
such in the 2004 edition of Webster's? Just to make sure, I googled,
and indeed all the hits were from lexicographical sites. To make doubly
sure, I googled "indagate the"; at first I thought it was still fitfully
in use, because in one of the hits the authors "aim to present and
indagate the fundamentals and practice of Plasma Arc Welding," but
clicking on the link showed me that it was (badly) translated from
Portuguese. Indeed, indagar 'investigate, inquire into' is in current
use in Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan, and I assume essentially all
the uses on the internet are from people translating from those
languages and assuming, understandably, that since English has the same
word, it's a good translation. I suggest that Merriam-Webster either
delete it from their next edition or mark it "obs," which it most
certainly is.

It doesn't seem ever to have been in wide use; here are the OED
citations, a meager crop for three centuries (and note that of the five
cites, one is a dictionary definition and two employ a synonym with it):

While we are still on the subject of coastal interventions, let us
finally enter into the archives Vicente Guallart's wonderful microcoasts.

Installed on a rough stretch of the Spanish coast in a state of
"permanent revision," to use the architect's translated words, these
terrestrial islands enable comfortable colonization where solid ground
gives way to more ambiguous landforms.

If we can be permitted to continue our self-indulgent streak, we would
like to imagine these microcoasts having been fitted with an internal
fantamagical machinery that allows them to expand and contract, either
following some sort of obscure, unknowable tectonic logic or in direct
response to external stimuli, for instance, beach erosion and the
fluctuating numbers of English pensioners.

Each one is like an orthogonal paramecium genetically modified with an
Autobot's DNA, unfurling its geometry laterally or outwards into the
sea, perhaps joining others of its own species to form a superorganism
and in the process Spain gains a small province, before mitotically
subdividing into beach furniture. For power, they graze on a diet of
sun, wind and waves.

When there is no more edge, when the sea finally abuts the city, they
will just migrate to new ecotonal pastures.

I'm going to ask if 'ambient' is better than 'virtual'. I'm thinking you might be more at ease with the latter.

From my POV, virtual already has wide currency, and seems to refer to the same thing. Plus, when I think of 'ambient' relationships, it extends to the people I recognise but don't know while traversing M/KH, colleagues, etc. It's the whole cloud, not just the web-based milieu. Virtual, on the other hand, pretty explicitly refers to internettish associates.

M/KH is the first place I've lived with a distinct cyber-neighbourhood that closely parallels RL, but in which there are 'meat' neighbours and 'virtual' neighbours. For me, the two don't overlap all that much. But I wouldn't </Description>

I want to set up a three-blog scheme using the single-database, multiple-blog method set out here, but am wondering what’s best for the top level directory. Should I set up a blog at /root in addition to the blogs in each subdirectory?

The /root blog would provide the initial database, to which I would add tables for each subsidiary blog. But is there any other use for that top level blog? Would it be useful for creating some sort of sitemap, combined display, or other function?

They do! A great deal is written about which knots weaken a rope most. An angle, a kink, or a knot, stresses the fibers unevenly and weakens the rope. If this concerns you, you are using rope that's too thin. Although some knots in some ropes are claimed to only weaken a rope to about 80% of its rated strength, other knots weaken a rope to about 50%. It is therefore simpler, and certainly safer, to assume that even brand new rope will perform at no more than 50% of its rated breaking strength. Once you have Postie installed and a POP mail account set up and tested, configure Wordpress. Open www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin then under Options > Writing you'll find a Writing by E-mail section. Fill in your mailserver address which can be a domain name like mail.domain.com or the IP address of your server if you're sure it will never ever change.
Set the port to 110 for a default POP server, or 11110 if you're using MrPostman, or enter localhost if your mail server runs on your webserver.

Google continues to innovate on the API front, today releasing an API in
a very different category: charting. What is it? From the FAQ: "The
Google Chart API is an extremely simple tool that lets you easily create
a chart from some data and embed it in a web page. You embed the data
and formatting parameters in an HTTP request, and Google returns a PNG
image of the chart. Many types of chart are supported, and by making the
request into an image tag you can simply include the chart in a web

Steve Crossan from the Chart API team in Zurich notes via their blog
that it's one of Google's simplest APIs yet: "Let's get straight in with
an example. This URL creates this image:

Currently supported are line, bar, and pie charts, as well as venn

Google does note there's a limit of 50,000 queries per user per day. But
this is a reasonable constraint given that most charts can be generated
and then cached on developer's own servers.

Windows/Linux (Thunderbird): Import Outlook's PST files and choose which
email folders to bring into Thunderbird with PST Import, a free
extension for the open-source, cross-platform email manager Thunderbird.
While Thunderbird can import certain messages and settings from an
existing Outlook installation, the PST Import add-on lets you set up
email on Linux systems, and gives Thunderbird users the ability to pull
specific email folders from a stand-alone PST file. The program was
coded in France and one user review noted a dialog pop-up in French
language, but the instructions should be fairly straightforward,
regardless. PST Import is a free download and is listed as working with
Windows and Linux versions of Thunderbird—if any OS X users want to give

Windows/Mac: Freeware application ImageSorter organizes images by color,
date taken, name, or size. According to ImageSorter's developer, the
main purpose of the application is to help you find pictures you've
taken when you remember how the picture looks (by color) but have no
idea where it is on your computer. The application is pretty simple to
get the hang of, and it does offer an interesting way to browse and sort
images, and while it's not going to replace image management apps like
Picasa or iPhoto, it's a great tool for finding that lost photo under
the right circumstances. For a better look at how it works, check out

Windows, Mac and Linux: A preview release of the highly-anticipated,
cross-platform, open source personal information manager Chandler is now
available for download, and while it's still got kinks to work out, it
looks as promising as its vision. Called the PIM "for people who use
their Inbox as their task list, Chandler picks up where your Inbox
leaves off." Chandler's essentially a combination calendar, email inbox
and task list for the individual, as well as a collaboration tool for
small groups. The Chandler developers say:
Our goal is to serve the way people actually work, independently and
together, particularly in small groups, a market segment we believe is
underserved. Our belief is that personal and collaborative information
work is by nature iterative and that the existing binary Done/Not-Done,
Read/Unread, Flagged/Unflagged paradigm in productivity software poorly
accommodates the reality of how people work.

Ever since I read Scott Rosenberg's book, Dreaming in Code, I've been
dying to see Chandler get released. Dreaming In Code is a chronicle of
Chandler's early stages, documenting its development from inception
through much of its often painful evolution, which reads like a familiar
story to anyone who's ever tried to build software. (Programmers and
software designers, read this book.) I love the open source ethos
behind Chandler and the vision for its use, which is tightly tied to
Getting Things Done.

As for the preview release, well, it has some ways to go. I was unable
to get my Gmail account to sync with it via IMAP, for instance, which
kept me from doing any real-world testing. So while it's not stable
software ready for primetime, the Chandler preview IS an exciting tease
at a unified inbox/calendar/task list that keeps all your stuff in one
place while offering decentralized sharing capabilities. If Chandler's
final release delivers on its promises, it will also deliver users from
the evil of Microsoft Outlook and Exchange server. Until then, you can
tinker with the preview and hope. The Chandler Preview is a free
download for Mac, Windows and Linux.

holiday week thinking about all the places I went and things I did this

There are a few ways you can set up a timeline to help remember
everything you did this year. Previously mentioned webapp Dandelife is a
nice place to publish life stories on a timeline, share them with
others, and add photos from Flickr and other services (like Twitter,
Amazon, etc.) If you don't want to host your data elsewhere, the open
source Simile Timeline is really cool. Here's a breakdown on how to roll
your own timeline with Simile. More lo-fi solutions include an Excel
template, or you could just create a Google Calendar to capture past
events, too (the Agenda view isn't quite a timeline, but it's a nice
list of events). Update: You can also review your year of Flickr
photos on a calendar.

Custom search site Swicki, just out of beta, combines cherry-picking
site searches with social moderation features to make a theoretically
smarter personalized search box. Like Yahoo's search builder or personal
search granddaddy Rollyo, Swicki lets you pick topics and sites you want
to look through, but has a few more tricks up its sleeve.

The main difference is that a Swicki uses the clicks, keywords and
searches from other Swickis with similar interests to rank and sort
results, rather than any Google-like system. It also relies on users'
voting results up and down and removing them to train the widget on what
to look for. Lastly, Swickis can display RSS, video, and multimedia
content, and be embedded in blogs or web sites. Building a Swicki is
free, but requires clicking through a few pages to complete the process.

You don't need a complicated boot CD or expensive software to create a
restorable system disk image for your PC: free utility DriveImage XML
can save a full, working snapshot of your Windows hard drive while you
work on it. (That's hot.) When your PC crashes and burns or just slows
down over time, the best insurance you can have is a mirror image of
your operating system, complete with drivers, user settings, software
applications, and documents in one place. A while back we covered how to
partition and image your Windows hard drive using the Linux-based System
Recovery Boot CD, a process that involves command line work,
disk-burning, rebooting, and video driver wrangling. With DiskImage
XML, imaging your PC's hard drive is a matter of a few clicks, no
reboots required. Let's check it out.

Create a New System
Image

First, download
DriveImage XML for free and install it as usual. You can store
your system image anywhere you'd like, but I highly recommend
saving it on a disk other than the one you're imaging. So if you
plan to image your C: drive, purchase an external hard drive to
store C:'s image, or right after you create the image, burn the
files to CD or DVD. This way if your C: drive fails or breaks, you
still have your image available on a separate physical disk.

When you launch DriveImage XML (DiX), click on the "Backup"
button on the lower left of the screen. It will scan your PC and
list all the hard drives connected to your system. To image your C:
drive (most likely your system's primary, active disk), select it
and click the Next button to launch DriveImage XML's backup wizard.
Click Next again to set where DiX should save your image, and a few
additional options, as shown.

The settings here will affect how large your image file is and
how it can be restored. Here's a rundown of what each does.

Raw mode. In "raw mode," DriveImage XML makes a sector
by sector copy of your drive, including unused space. This means
your image file will be the same exact size of the drive, and it
can only be restored to a drive of that same exact size. For most
home use situations, leave this box unchecked. (There's no sense in
backing up blank disk space.)

Split large files. If you plan to burn your disk image
to CDs or DVDs, select "Split large files," which will break your
image file down into smaller chunks. This way you can easily save
them to smaller-sized disks later on. If "Split large files" is NOT
checked, you'll get one giant image file, either as large as the
disk itself or as large as the used space on the disk (depending on
whether "Raw mode" is enabled.)

Compressed. If space on your destination drive is at a
premium, select the "Compressed" option to make your image file up
to 40% smaller than in normal mode. Compression will slow down the
imaging process, but it will help save on disk space.

Hot Imaging Strategy. The hot part of DriveImage XML is
that it can image your drive while you work?but that means that
files you're using while it does its thing have to be locked to be
copied correctly. DiX will try two strategies: locking the drive
entirely (if you're not using the computer and saving files), or
using Windows' built-in Volume Shadow Services to get the last
saved state of the drive. Leaving this at the default?"Try Volume
Locking first"?is fine for home use.

Click the Next button to start creating the drive image file.
Depending on the speed of your computer, and the size of your hard
drive (and amount of used space), this process can take a
significant amount of time. Consider starting it before you leave
your computer for the evening, or during your lunch break.
DriveImage XML will keep a running counter of how much time it's
been copying the disk and how much time is left until it completes,
as shown.

DiX isn't fast, especially if you've got a lot of data to image.
On the spare PC where I ran DiX, about 12GB of used space took
about 35 minutes to image. When the imaging process is complete,
you'll have two types of files stored on the destination: a single
.XML file (hence DriveImage XML's name), and either one or several
.DAT files (depending on whether or not you selected "Split large
files.") The .XML file is a list of all the files in the image. The
.DAT file(s) contain the actual image data. Here's what the file
listing on my external drive looks like, once my image was
complete.

Once you've saved a system image, you can use it in three ways:
to restore individual files from their saved state; to restore your
PC back to the exact state it was when you saved the image, or to
make an exact copy of the drive to another partition or hard
drive.
Browse and Restore
Individual Files

To view and copy files contained within an image to your PC,
click on the Browse button on the lower left of the DriveImage XML
window, and click "Load Image." Then select the .XML file for the
image you saved. (Remember, every image has exactly one .XML file
associated with it.) DiX will read the .XML listing and display all
the files contained within the image, as shown.

Navigate the folder tree as usual, and right-click any file to
view it, launch it using its associated application, or extract it
(restore it to your current PC setup.) You can also right-click on
an entire folder?like "My Documents"?and choose "Extract" (or press
Ctrl+S) to copy it to your current PC setup.
Perform a Complete
System Restore
If your computer's hard drive crashed entirely, you can restore it
to its past state using the DiX image you created. Restoring an
image to a target disk will delete everything on the disk and copy
the contents of the image to it. That means you cannot restore an
image to a drive you're already using (because you can't delete the
contents of a disk already in use). So if you booted up your
computer on your C: drive, you can't restore an image to your C:
drive. You need access to the target drive as a secondary disk.
There are a few ways to do this. You can install the target drive
as a slave in another PC in addition to its primary boot drive, or
you can buy
a hard drive enclosure and connect the target as an external
drive.

Either way, to restore a disk image to a drive you intend to
boot from, you'll need:

A PC running DriveImage XML

The saved disk image files, whether they're on CD, DVD, on the
host PC or on an external drive

A target drive with a partition at least the size of the drive
image files. (You can use Windows built-in Disk Management console
or your partition manager of choice to create a new partition to
restore to.)

To start the restore process, in DriveImage XML, click on the
Restore button, then click the Next button, which will launch the
drive restore wizard. From there, select the .XML file associated
with the image, and then select the target drive. (Remember, the
target drive must be an existing partition that's the same size or
larger than the image, and it must not be the active system drive.)
All files will be deleted from the target drive on restore, so be
double sure there's nothing there you need to save. Like the image
creation process, Dix will display a progress bar and estimated
time as it restores the image to the drive.

Once the image has been copied and restored onto the target
drive, you'll have to make that drive the active, boot partition
for your PC to start using it. Either install the disk back into
your PC, or use the Disk Management Console to set the target
partition as "Active" and reboot your PC. Alternately, you can
create a bootable Windows CD with DriveImage XML on it. Here's more

More DiX
Actions

You can also copy an entire existing partition to another blank
partition without making an image at all, using DiX's Drive to
Drive feature. (This could be useful to make a full copy of a data
partition, for example.) Finally, you can schedule regular disk
image operations using Windows Task Scheduler and Dix command line
options. For more on that, in DiX's Help file, under the Feature
folder, see "Task Scheduler."
Comparison to
Commercial Alternatives, and Why DriveImage XML is Not Quite Time
Machine for Windows

Commercial software that retails betweens $50 and $70, like
Norton Ghost and Acronis TrueImage, do exactly what DiX does for
free. However, DiX does NOT do incremental images like most
commercial products and Mac OS X's built-in Time Machine does.
Every time you create an image it's a full and complete backup of
the disk, which means that regularly scheduled imaging can eat up
hard drive space fast.

Also, DiX's image files aren't browse-able using Windows
Explorer, the way Mac users can explore Time Machine's backups
using the Finder. However, the developers say that DiX is not
necessarily required to restore files from the images it creates.
The .XML file is not proprietary and readable by any program out to
do so, and the image file itself is just all your files squashed
into one big .DAT file. The .XML file acts as a map to the .DAT
file, and if DiX wasn't around, in theory other programs would be
able to grok it pretty easily. Which is nice, but still not as
transparent as Time Machine's backup files.

Anyone who uses Adobe Photoshop regularly has probably learned to both
love and loath Adobe's signature product. Despite being the
top-contender in the image editing business, Photoshop is still missing
some features.For example, out of the box, Adobe Photoshop has no option
to save files as .ICO or icon files. One option is to make a bitmap
(.bmp) image first and then rename it to .ico . However that creates a

Firewall Pro, one of the best firewalls available for Windows XP and
Vista, has just been updated to version 3.0. Like all previous versions,
Comodo Firewall Pro is free, and we like free. Unlike many other free
(and some pay) firewall programs, Comodo has a rock solid record for
security; we like this even more.New features in this update include a
change to the user interface (it looks more professional now and less
GUI 101), an updated host prevention engine and application analysis,
and a great new feature called "Clean PC" which profiles all the
applications on a new PC (or a freshly formatted PC), registers them as
"safe" and then only allows applications you approve to be installed.
That's a great way to avoid malware from getting installed on your
system - or the system of a less technical savvy relative. The
application white list has also been updated to nearly 1 million trusted
applications, about a 100x increase over Comodo 2.4.One warning for
users of Windows Vista and Avast! anti-virus, there seems to be a
conflict between Avast! and Comodo, leading to long start-up times in
Windows Vista. Updating to the newest version of Avast! before
installing Comodo can help this problem, but it is still unresolved.
Fear not - the program has only been in final release for a day - we're
confident the conflict will be resolved quickly, but until then, you
might want to wait on Comodo Pro Firewall 3. For everyone else, if you
are still using the Windows Firewall (or worse, no firewall at all), we

This week Wal-Mart started selling a $199 PC with a Linux based operating system called gOS pre-loaded. A lot of websites mistakenly reported that the "g" stands for Gogole, because this stripped down operating system has direct links to a bunch of Google services like YouTube, Docs & Spreadsheets, and Blogger. But gOS is actually a stripped down "green" operating system based on Ubuntu.

And you don't need to buy a $199 PC to load it. You can download gOS right now. Unfortunately, the developer's site seems to be down at the moment, but you can find gOS on several Torrent trackers.

The ISO weighs in at 728 MB, making it a tight fit for a CD-R, but leaving plenty of room on a DVD-R. And like almost all Ubuntu-based operating systems, gOS comes as a LiveCD, meaning you can take it for a test drive without installing anything. Just boot your PC from the DVD. When you're done, shut down, pop the DVD out and reboot into Windows, Linux, or whatever you've been using up until now.

You can enable/disable Drupal Modules from the Administer->Modules
section. The default installation of Drupal has a ton of useful modules,

On your site, drupal modules are stored in the Modules subfolder within
the drupal installation directory. You can install additional modules by
simply unzipping them to that folder.

Let's say that you need to install the trackback module.

trackback-x.y.z.tar.gz. Download it to your local PC. Extract the
archive using the free copy of winrar (which can be found at

Note, my experiences are for simple email processing. I haven't done
anything like tying an email list to a forum.

Step 1: Turn on the mailhandler module
Admin -> Modules ... Click on the module

Step 2: Set up an email account to which you will send email. This depends
on what you are using for a mail hosting service.
I use cpanel, click on Mail , click on Manage/Add/Remove accounts.. Click on
Add accounts and set up the email address and the password. For my system,
the email can be retrieved as POP3. Again, this depends on the mail hosting
service you are using.

Step 3: Configure the mailhandler
Admin -> Mailhandler
Click on Add Mailbox, fill in the appropriate fields.

If you're a retail landlord with a building that is currently empty,
or that could be in the near future, you should keep a close eye on
the proposed changes to the empty property rates relief that were
announced in this year's Budget.

If these plans go ahead, buildings will no longer qualify for half
rates after the first three months (six months for factories and
warehouses) of being empty.The government hopes these revisions will
encourage more efficient use of land and provide incentives for
owners, developers and tenants to get more empty buildings back into
commercial use.
It is thought that those businesses renting premises will not only
benefit from more land becoming available, but also from the added
injection of competition which will reduce rent prices.Yet how can
we even guarantee that the market will react in this desired manner?
Hartnell Taylor Cook's research has shown that a whopping 95% of the
UK's property developers and retail landlords are completely against
the proposed changes. Many feel these poorly consulted amendments
are purely a money generating exercise.
It is unclear how these changes will promote regeneration, or how
increasing taxes will incentivise owners and developers to
redevelop. For a start, there is rarely enough time to organise a
new occupier even when one is lined up and keen to move in.
It is likely, if not certain, that owners will react by increasing
their service charges, rents and extend lease terms in order to
recover from the big tax bills they face when properties are empty.
Developers may also reject riskier projects in undesirable areas for
fears of bigger taxes if they fail to find a tenant. Deprived
communities will be the biggest losers as this is likely to
generate, rather than reduce, ruin and dereliction.
Another concern is that property owners may cause deliberate damage
to their buildings, or be tempted to dismantle buildings in order to
remove them from the ratings list, to avoid the tax. Again, this
will simply reduce supply and drive up rents.
Meanwhile, anti-avoidance measures have the potential to cause
further problems by putting the burden of proof on the owner to
demonstrate that damage occurred beyond their control or in the
course of permitted works.
One only has to look at what these changes will mean for listed
buildings. Will they still be exempt under this new legislation and
if so, will this lead to a massive influx of properties put forward
for 'listed' status in order to avoid this tax?
What happens to those buildings which have a listed façade on the
front of them? Will these revised changes mean that landlords will
not be paying rates on the front of their property- but will have to
on the back?
Further loopholes and confusion emerge with the Section 44(a)
relief, a temporary relief awarded to business ratepayers using only
part of their premises whilst the remaining unoccupied area is
completely unused. It is another area that could see landlords hit
hard under the new regime.How does the Government propose to
orchestrate the new legislation around this Act? What will be the
implications for new or small businesses trying to sustain a
competitive footing in the market? It is a worrying thought that
even without sufficient evidence, consultation and public support,
the Government is keen to implement these changes.
Only time will tell if changes that have a detrimental effect on a
business's ability to operate flexibly will, in fact, improve the
supply of commercial property within England and Wales.

This is interesting because of the way it mentions value, and the way
it's hostile to notions of enforced responsibility. It is as I would
expect - that property-based businesses would put profit before social
responsibility.

changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can
then be deleted later. This allows you to remove traces of your internet or PC
activities, as well as reverse any changes to your Favorites, home page,
registry and more. Even files that were downloaded during a sandbox session will
be wiped after the sandbox is cleared. The program runs in the system tray and
if you want to start a sandboxed session, simply launch your browser, or any
other program via the tray icon, rather than the regular way.

This looks like a good way to run trial software, and uninstall it - or reinstall after the trail period expires.

AutoIt: automation tool

AutoIt is a simple tool that can simulate key presses, mouse movements and
window commands (maximize, minimize, wait for, etc.) in order to automate any
windows based task (or even windowed DOS tasks). It was primarily designed to
assist in automatically installing software that cannot be automatically
installed by other means. This is most useful during a PC rollout where hundreds
or thousands of client machines need to be automatically installed. However,
AutoIt is not limited to software installation and can be used to automate many
simple or complex windows tasks like executing programs,sending keystrokes and
mouse clicks, text clipboard functions, registry functions and more.

Last night, after several hours mucking about with feed readers and blogging software, discovered that I can host a blogspot blog on my webspace, hence this shortlived combination of the two that was shortly replaced by the blog you are now reading.

That accomplished, it's almost time to ask why I'm doing this. The answer is not particularly clear, but I am thinking that this is a repository for things I come across in my feed readers, and that I might also sign up for AdSense. The annex becomes a scrapbook that's incidental to but allied with my main publishing efforts.

The next trick was to get the blog-by-email function working. I have managed it elsewhere, but not consistently, so it took some guesswork before that bit was set up effectively. It's an important function because I have not got a joined-up system of feed-reader and blog client that would make posting snippets easy.

The idea is that a news aggregator (feed reader) like NewzCrawler can be configured to re-publish a snippet of a news item, so that a blog like this effectively becomes a digest of other feeds. Nominally, I should add commentary or information before re-posting, but in this case I'm thinking of it as a cuttings file. There's another issue in that I am not about to spend the $30 for NewzCrawler, and so need a free alternative, such as the email-to-blog feature of this blog. Or a combination of standalone feed reader and blog client, such as Omea Reader and w.bloggar. These two can be joined with a little plug-in for Sharp Reader that also works in Omea.

That leaves a slightly different issue to resolve, which is that feed readers have a limited attention span, usually a few weeks at most, so an old post like this one will have to be re-published by other means.

If all goes smoothly I should be able to highlight and re-publish snippets of things here. Conversely, I may scrap this blog in favour of another method. This is a possibility because I want my blog client to retrieve and modify existing posts on some of my other Blogger sites. I really dislike the web-based WYSIWYG editors, and intend to make this the first and last time I use the one for this blog. A desktop client like w.bloggar, ecto, or Zoundry is my first preference, and a browser-based client like ScribeFire a distant second. But Blogspot seem to have made that task difficult since the advent of Blogger Version 2. My w.bloggar client doesn't parse the response from Blogspot when setting up a link, and I've had trouble with a couple of other clients. So the future of this blog is partly a matter of which client I can get to work with it, and whether that client makes the re-feeding easy. ScribeFire works well in that regard, as do ecto and WB Editor 3 - but I have yet to find a feed aggregator that work with either of those two clients.
